American League Player of the Week
Ichiro Pitchers who faced the Cleveland Indians last week were happy to see Ichiro Suzuki in the rear view mirror. The 34-year-old right fielder was dubbed the American League Player of the Week for a 4-game tear that produced a .688 on base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage.

Those numbers came, in part, from 1 base on balls and 3 extra-base hits, to go along with 7 runs batted in and 3 runs scored.

Suzuki is hitting .410 so far this season with 12 RBI and 11 runs scored. He has 25 hits including 2 doubles, no triples, and 4 home runs.

National League Player of the Week
Lee It was a week to remember for Derrek Lee. After wrapping up a torrid week at the plate, the Chicago Cubs first baseman was named the NL Player of the Week.

Lee collected 16 hits in 26 at bats for a .615 average. He also accounted for 6 runs batted in and swatted 1 home run.

Lee is hitting at a .405 mark so far in 2008. He has collected 20 singles, 6 doubles, and 3 home runs, punching across 12 runs batted in to date. Lee has struck out 20 times, grabbing 6 bases on balls for the year. He has a .450 OBP and an OPS of 1.085.
