Wednesday, December 5th, 2007: C Castro Signs New $1,404,000 Contract with White Sox
Some White Sox fans are grumbling about the signing of 31-year-old catcher Ramon Castro. Some are cautiously optimistic, while most are adamantly skeptical as to whether the deal, estimated at a $1,404,000 annual price tag, is a good one for Chicago.

In his career Castro has cracked 79 extra-base hits--46 doubles, 3 triples, and 30 home runs. He has collected 225 hits in a total of 492 games played and posted a batting average of .226. He also owns a .368 slugging percentage and a .298 OBP.
