He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 2-hit shutout. "He just worked us over good," the Cleveland skipper said. "He probably didn't even take a shower after the game. I don't think he even worked up a sweat. They could probably pitch him again tomorrow." In the victory Garland whiffed 4 and gave up 1 base on balls.
Over the season Jon Garland has compiled a 12-8 mark, 2.75 ERA, made 29 starting appearances, fanned 153 batters, issued 28 bases on balls, tossed 219 innings and held the opposition to a .248 batting average. | |
