International League News Article | | | Monday, June 30th, 2008: IL Player of the Week Prize Goes to Bronson Sardinha of the Indianapolis Indians Not every ball that came off Bronson Sardinha's bat last week was a line drive or a towering shot--it just seemed that way to the teams that played the Indianapolis Indians. For his exploits, Sardinha was named the recipient of the latest International League Player of the Week award.
The Indianapolis center fielder treated the pitchers he faced to 11 base hits in 26 at-bats for a .423 batting average. He pushed across 8 runs and scored 5, 2 of those runs coming on his own home runs.
This year Sardinha has chipped in 73 hits with 37 RBI and 7 home runs. He has also posted a .282 batting average to date. | |
