Thus far this year, the 27-year-old third baseman has a .235 batting average with a .292 on base percentage. Fahey has cracked 43 hits including 1 home runs, scored 26 times, and banged in 27 runs as well. |  | Friday, July 11th, 2008: Prolific Morales Torches Three Taters Fans from Salt Lake are still buzzing after Salt Lake Bees first baseman Kendry Morales smashed three home runs in a game against Tucson. This is a feat that few, if any, will soon forget, least of all Morales, who doffed his cap to the crowd as he rounded the bases for the third time.
K. Morales hit a two-run home run off A. Peterson in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off A. Peterson in the 4th, walked in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, was hit by a pitch in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off M. Bacsik in the 8th.
Morales is really in a groove this year. Everything he sees he hits. Currently he boasts an average of .291 and has jolted 95 hits, 13 doubles, 18 home runs and driven in 77 runs. He has played in 84 games, walked 58 times, stolen 1 bases, compiled a .396 OBP and scored 57 runs. |  | Friday, July 11th, 2008: Cubs Shut out RedHawks In an impressive mound performance, Mark Pawelek of the Iowa Cubs checked the Oklahoma RedHawks on a 1-hitter and held them scoreless. "He was getting ahead of us and keeping the ball off the plate," according to the Oklahoma manager. "Pawelek kept us confused the whole game." The Iowa hurler rang up 4 strikeouts and issued 1 walks in his shutout victory.
For a young pitcher, Pawelek is certainly tossing the ball well this year. He has made 17 starts, tossed 110.1 innings, struck out 71 batters, and walked 34.
