Monday, July 7th, 2008: Miguel Ojeda of Colorado Springs Picked Pacific Player of the Week
Miguel Ojeda would not be denied the Pacific Player of the Week Award for this past week. His consistent stroke, which produced 14 hits, 10 runs batted in and 4 extra-base hits, made him--at least in the minds of the Colorado Springs fan base--the clear favorite to win the honor.

"You just go out there and do what you have to do," said Ojeda, "No offense to the fans, but I block them out when I'm at bat. I'm up there to get a hit, or advance a runner, not to get caught up in the emotion of the moment. There's time for all that after the game."

Ojeda has been clubbing the ball at a .346 pace this year. He has banged out 44 hits, 6 doubles, and 8 homers with 27 RBI. He has scored 26 times, whiffed 26 times, walked 12, and played in 38 games.
