"I hope we miss him next time," the San Antonio manager said. "Kyle McCulloch certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
The Tulsa starter tamed the San Antonio Missions with a 6-hit shutout, finishing the game with 9 strikeouts and no bases on balls in a sharp outing. "I enjoy facing a team like that where I can get an out on one, two or three pitches," McCulloch said. "It gives me a chance to be a lot more aggressive."
To date this year, McCulloch shows a 7-1 record, 14 appearances, 104.2 innings, 87 strikeouts and a 1.63 ERA. |

Ian Bladergroen put on a hitting clinic today. The Midland first baseman sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing Wichita pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
I. Bladergroen singled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 10th.
So far in 2008, Bladergroen is batting .287 with 4 home runs and 21 runs batted in, in 136 at-bats. |
