Saturday, July 12th, 2008: Mauro Nahoul Humbles Myrtle Beach with Whitewash Job
Mauro Nahoul of the Winston-Salem Warthogs shut out the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, holding them to 4 hits while fanning 1 batters and walking 1. Nahoul said, "I could throw any pitch on any count."

The Myrtle Beach skipper called his game a jewel, saying, "The way he was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him."

This season Nahoul has crafted a 6-8 mark with a 2.05 ERA in 132 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .195 against him, and he has 24 strikeouts.
Saturday, July 12th, 2008: No-Hitter for Stimpson!
Keith Stimpson of the Kinston Indians was certainly the King of the Hill today in the Carolina League. He really did a number on the Salem Avalanche, and that number was zero--how many hits he gave up.

"I can't believe I got a no-hitter!" said an exuberant Stimpson after the game. "That is the last thing you think about when you go out to the mound. You just want to win the game. The toughest part was the last couple of innings. Everybody in the ballpark knows you have a no-hitter, including me. That was the hard part, keeping your poise and concentration while your heart is pounding."

Stimpson recorded 10 strikeouts and 2 bases on balls in his sensational performance.

To date Stimpson is putting together a respectable season from the rubber. He has made 15 starts, tossed 115 innings, struck out 58 batters, and walked 38. His won-lost record is 6-6, and he owns a 2.27 ERA. He has limited opposing teams to a .152 BA.
Friday, July 11th, 2008: Barker No-Hitter Carries Keys to Victory
Nurhan Barker was unhittable today. The Frederick pitcher breezed through the Lynchburg lineup and got himself a no-hitter. They were swinging late and swinging early, almost never on time. Barker had them talking to themselves. He also fired 2 strikeouts and issued 1 base on balls in his outstanding performance.

Here's how his season stats look: Barker has a 2-4 won-lost record and has appeared in 11 games, logged 71.1 innings pitched and fanned 21 batters.
