The Potomac Nationals first baseman swung his way to the Carolina League Player of the Week award by smacking the ball at a .429 clip with 12 hits, including 2 home runs, in 28 at bats for the Potomac Nationals. He scored 6 times and drove in 13 runs.
Without debate, Campanella is one of the more productive hitters in the league this season. He is a very strong contender for the Outstanding Hitter Award, posting a .349 average with 90 hits in 258 at-bats, 64 RBI, 12 doubles, and 12 home runs. He isn't just hitting the ball, he is jolting it everywhere. He also has scored 46 runs, walked 26 times, stolen 0 bases, and compiled a .408 OBP. | |
