Florida State League News Article | | | Thursday, July 3rd, 2008: No-Hitter for Pope! It was a fantastic day for Justin Pope of the Tampa Yankees and a lousy day for the St. Lucie Mets. His pitching artistry completely befuddled and bewildered them all game long and when it was over he had pitched a no-hitter.
"The ball was moving and darting, and best of all, going where I wanted it to go." Pope ran up 6 strikeouts and allowed no bases on balls while shutting them down.
In 2008 Pope has thrown 109.1 innings, rolling up a 15-0 record in 15 starts, and he boasts an ERA of 0.99 with 41 strikeouts. | |
