 | Thursday, May 8th, 2008: Delmarva Lays Goose Eggs, Blanked by Sayer Beaty Hopping fastballs and sharp sinkers mixed in with a few slow curves sunk the Delmarva Shorebirds today. Sayer Beaty of the Lake County Captains gave them a steady diet of fine pitches, and he walked off the mound with a complete game shutout. He blanked them on 4 hits and struck out 7 while walking 2. The Lake County manager said, "Beaty was on quite a roll. He gets great late movement, he has that good sinker, and he doesn't give in to the hitters." All told in 2008, Beaty has collected 6 wins and no losses in 7 games with a 1.57 ERA. |
