Wednesday, July 9th, 2008: Hammett Fashions Shutout Against Boise
Holt Hammett of the Tri-City Dust Devils shut out the Boise Hawks, stopping them on 2 hits while striking 1 batters and giving up 0 walks. After the game his manager said, "He just came out and was on the attack from the first pitch he threw. When Holt stays ahead in the count, he does well. That's the key."

Hammett is in his first season in the league. The 24-year-old rookie has pitched 38 innings in 5 starts, fanned 7 batters, walked 5, and put up a 0.71 ERA with 3 wins and 1 loss.
Monday, July 7th, 2008: Mitch Einertson of Sokane Receives Player of the Week Honors in the Northwest League
The Northwest League has chosen Mitch Einertson of the Sokane Indians as Player of the Week. And what a week Einertson had: He hit .500, swatted 1 home run, and drove in 9 while scoring 9 runs.

Einertson still marvels at being in Northwest League. The 22-year-old left fielder is posting steady numbers this year, racking up 27 hits, 20 RBI, and 4 homers and scoring 25 runs to date. In 17 games this season he is hitting .386. He also has walked 11 times, stolen 5 bases, and compiled a .494 OBP.
Sunday, July 6th, 2008: Bears Hitless Against Wafford!
It was a fantastic day for Antoine Wafford of the Sokane Indians and a lousy day for the Yakima Bears. His pitching artistry completely befuddled and bewildered them all game long and when it was over he had pitched a no-hitter.

"The ball was moving and darting, and best of all, going where I wanted it to go." Wafford ran up 4 strikeouts and allowed no bases on balls while shutting them down.
