Nicolaas Salij allowed 2 base hits while walking 1 and striking out (%pitching k] as Kingsport blanked Bristol. In the postgame interview Salij said, "I'm trying to keep the ball down and let guys put it in play. It worked for me today."

Thursday, July 10th, 2008: Rodríguez on Top of His Game, Shuts out Devil Rays
Delmar Rodríguez effectively shut down the Devil Rays today, blanking them on 3 hits while fanning 4 and allowing 1 bases on balls. The Braves pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on. "I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Rodríguez said after the game, "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there."

The Devil Rays skipper said, "We had some opportunities, but weren't able to execute. We just didn't swing the bats very well today."

So far in 2008, Rodríguez has garnered 3 wins and 2 losses over 5 games. He has recorded an ERA of 2.78 and struck out 9 batters, while pitching 32.1 innings.

Cla Arosemena was the King of Swing today. The Elizabethton right fielder stepped into the batter's box 6 times against the Pulaski Blue Jays and delivered 5 hits.

C. Arosemena walked in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
