Jose Tabata sure isn't playing like the rookie he is. The 19-year-old right fielder for Oakland is rapping the ball like a seasoned veteran in the American League. In June Tabata compiled a .330 batting average. He drove in 11 runs, hit 6 home runs and scored 20 times to put the finishing touches on his Rookie of the Month trophy.
Jose Tabata is hitting .305 this year with 15 home runs and 38 RBI. He also has an OBP of .372 in 73 games played.

Craig Wilson was on fire today, going 5 for 6 against San Francisco.
C. Wilson singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
This season, Craig is stroking the ball at a .250 clip with 20 RBI and 23 runs scored. He has piled up 43 hits, including 11 doubles and 4 home runs. He has walked 14 times and struck out 58 times.

"Sometimes I was smart . . . and sometimes just a little lucky." That's how Ben Sheets of the Oakland Athletics described his shutout victory over the Boston Red Sox. Sheets blanked them on 2 hits while striking out 4 and walking 1.
In 2008 Sheets has thrown 52.1 innings, rolling up a 5-2 record in 8 starts, and he boasts an ERA of 3.10 with 47 strikeouts.
