He victimized AL pitchers for a .455 batting average on 10 hits in 22 at bats, powered 4 home runs into the stands, scored 8 runs, and drove in 11 runs.

According to Freddy Garcia of the Seattle Mariners, "There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location." He told his pitching philosophy to sportswriters in the postgame interview after his victory over Boston. He blanked them on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. "I really felt comfortable the whole game," Garcia said.
His manager echoed his comments, saying, "He hit his spots time and time again in the game."
To date this season Garcia is 11-8 with 22 and an ERA of 3.01 with 100 strikeouts in 137.1 innings.
