Wednesday, May 21st, 2008: Texas Shuts out Mariners, Radke Picks up Win
"Sometimes I was smart . . . and sometimes just a little lucky." That's how Brad Radke of the Texas Rangers described his shutout victory over the Seattle Mariners. Radke blanked them on 4 hits while striking out 6 and walking 1.

Radke might be 35 years old, but this "Old Man" can still get it done. Just look at his stats this for this season. This veteran pitcher has chalked up 4 wins and 3 losses in 9 starts with 30 strikeouts in 50.2 innings and a 5.86 ERA. Opposing teams have put up only a .294 batting average against him.
Monday, April 14th, 2008: AL Names Mariners First Baseman Johnson Player of the Week
Seattle Mariners first baseman Dan Johnson, at the top of his game all last week, was a consensus choice today for American League Player of the Week. He victimized AL pitchers for a .455 batting average on 10 hits in 22 at bats, powered 4 home runs into the stands, scored 8 runs, and drove in 11 runs.

Monday, August 6th, 2007: Garcia Confuses Red Sox, Crafts Shutout
According to Freddy Garcia of the Seattle Mariners, "There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location." He told his pitching philosophy to sportswriters in the postgame interview after his victory over Boston. He blanked them on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. "I really felt comfortable the whole game," Garcia said.

His manager echoed his comments, saying, "He hit his spots time and time again in the game."

To date this season Garcia is 11-8 with 22 and an ERA of 3.01 with 100 strikeouts in 137.1 innings.
