| Breaking News | | Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008: Cyclones Held Scoreless by Hudson Valley "My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus. He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location." And that's what Nick Woodyard did as he led the Renegades to a shutout victory over the Cyclones.
"I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," the Brooklyn manager said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching." Woodyard rang up no strikeouts, gave out 1 walks, and yielded 3 base hits.
| | Saturday, June 28th, 2008: Mowett Shuts out ValleyCats On the hill Carl Mowett stood out and was the master of the moment. At bat the Tri-City ValleyCats floundered, fizzled, and failed to score. "His fastball moves, and he mixes in the slider," Tri-City manager said. "He kept us off balance." The Hudson Valley pitcher hurled a 1-hit shutout in an exceptional effort. He gave up 1 base on balls and sat down 1 batters on strikes.
"I felt good," Mowett said. "That's probably the best fastball I've had all season. I was able to locate it pretty well. They were super-aggressive, which helped me."
| | Tuesday, June 24th, 2008: Ohler Twirls Spikes to Shutout Victory Mark Ohler of the State College Spikes was in command from start to finish in his shutout win over the Hudson Valley Renegades.
