According to Miguel Vásquez of the Ogden Rapters, "There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location." He told his pitching philosophy to sportswriters in the postgame interview after his victory over Casper. He blanked them on 4 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 4. "I really felt comfortable the whole game," Vásquez said.

His manager echoed his comments, saying, "He hit his spots time and time again in the game."

Thursday, June 26th, 2008: Amillo Pitches Rockies to Shutout Victory
Everything clicked on the hill today for Salvador Amillo of the Casper Rockies as he hurled his club to a shutout win over the Idaho Falls Chukars, limiting them to 3 base hits while recording no strikeouts and yielding 1 free passes. He overpowered some batters with his fastball and buckled knees with his sharp breaking pitches. "We had our shot at him a couple of different times," the Chukars manager said, "but we weren't able to get to him."

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007: Owlz Shut out Rockies, Qing Picks up Win

In 2007 Qing has thrown 79.1 innings, rolling up a 4-8 record in 12 starts, and he boasts an ERA of 3.40 with 22 strikeouts.
