Pacheco is exciting to watch. While he might not know as much about the game as a fifteen year veteran, so far this year Pacheco has carved out a niche for himself, batting .217 with 3 home runs and 10 runs batted in. He has walked 14 times, stolen 0 bases and compiled a .271 OBP.

Wichita rode the magical arm of Shawn Tolleson in a shutout win over Corpus Christi. He shackled them on 5 base hits and fanned 10. Almost to a man, the Corpus Christi Hooks said he had them guessing wrong all game long.
The 2008 season translates one way to Tolleson: wins and losses. That's what he is paid to do. Currently, here is the way his season is going: a record of 3-4 with 74 strikeouts and 23 bases on balls in 71.2 innings, and a 1.76 ERA.

 | Monday, May 5th, 2008: Granados Silences Swingers, Shuts out Corpus Christi
The Hooks manager was philosophical after his team was shut out by the Frisco RoughRiders. "It was just one of those games, wash it off and do better next time," he said. Augusto Granados blanked them on 2 hits while walking 0 and striking out 6.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs. They were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Granados said. "I set them up pretty good, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
One of the league's most successful pitchers this year, Granados is showing a lot of poise on the hill. He has made 6 starts, tossed 48 innings, struck out 28 batters and walked 11. His record is 4 wins and no losses with a 1.50 ERA. He has limited other teams to a .141 BA.
